L. Dee "Deebo" Robbins died Saturday, March 26th in Abilene.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Elmwood Funeral Home.
Obituary
L. Dee "Deebo" Robbins, 74, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011 in Abilene. Visitation will be from 6 till 8 PM, Monday, March 28, 2011 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Reverend R. D. Childress. Interment will follow the service at Elmwood Memorial Park, Garden of Good Shepherd.
"Deebo" was born in Anson, Texas to Kim and Elva Robbins on March 28th, 1936. He was loved by many and loved everyone. His selfless character will leave a lasting legacy. He will be remembered for his love of country movies and music, playing cards, and especially for his devoted love for his wife, Rhoda. "Deebo" married Rhoda on November 18th, 1978. He worked for a number of years in sales and construction in Cisco and Abilene. He spent his retirement staying close to his family, children and grandchildren. He also loved spending time with his close friends that he made in school, the Cross Plains graduating class of 1954.
"Deebo" is preceded in death by his parents, Kim and Elva; six brothers, Milton, Pete, Joe, Ray, Ed, Duff; his sister, Rosa "Sis"; and son, Donovan McDonald.
"Deebo" is survived by his devoted family, wife, Rhoda Robbins; daughter, Sharon Greenlee and husband Randy of Rockwall, TX; daughter, Rocky McKinzie and husband Stephen of Patillo, TX; sons, Darren McDonald and Brian Strube of Decatur, TX; son, Daryl McDonald and wife Terri of Crowley, TX; son, David McDonald and wife Kate of Cedar Park, TX; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Shawn Clark, Robbie Brannon, Patrick Brannon, Michael Swindle, Ricky Robbins, and David Hollingsworth. Honorary Pallbearers are the class of 1954 and their spouses.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the extended family and dear friends that have supported us during this difficult time.
