Betah H. "Jack" Freeland Jr.

Betah H. "Jack" Freeland Jr. of Granbury, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010 in a Fort Worth hospital. He was 79.

Services with military honors were held at the Chapel of Parker Funeral Home on Friday, Feb. 12, 2010 in Baird. A visitation with family was held from Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Freeland was born in Cottonwood, on April 7, 1930. He attended school in Cottonwood and graduated from Baird High School and Texas Tech University. He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and worked in petroleum engineering for 40 years. He was a 55-year member of the Masonic Lodge.

After retirement Jack became a CPA and a real estate agent, living for many years in Granbury.

He was a loving husband, and proud and doting father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He touched many lives with just his laughter and smile. He will sorely be missed and may his loving and humorous spirit live on in all of us.
He is survived by his wife Omega "Mickey" Freeland; daughters Wynn Renee Freeland and husband James Harris Rudolph, and Terri Marie Tollett and husband Michael Lee Tollett; grandchildren Nicole Danielle Freeland, Michael Cody Tollett and wife Melissa Leighann Tollett, and Collin Lee Tollett and wife Jenna Theresa Tollett; great grandson Cody Braxton Tollett; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
