New Firetruck!
May 14, 2009 - 10:38am — CottonwoodTexas
The Cottonwood Volunteer Fire Control Group has acquired another firetruck – a bright red 1974 Ford F600 Brush Truck, thanks to the Clyde Fire Department.
“This truck means so much to us in Cottonwood,” stated Fire Chief Joe Terstegge, “We’ll be able to respond quicker and with the 600 gallon water carrying capacity of this truck, it will make a difference in how we can fight a fire.”
The new truck is ready for the road and will have its own bay in Cottonwood’s new firehouse, currently under construction. The Fire Control Group also has a bright yellow Forestry Service Brush Truck that is undergoing repairs and make ready, a white 1988 Ford F350 Diesel fire truck and two small older trucks.
The Cottonwood Volunteer Fire Control Group is supported solely by donations. If you’d like to help, please send a check to the group at 13210 CR 429, Cross Plains, TX 76443.
